Trinity Pettway

Trinity Avashi Pettway is a new artist from Durham, NC, and a recent graduate from North Carolina A&T State University, B.A. in Visual Arts and Design. Her practice utilizes familiar materials like acrylic and oil pastels in tandem with more experimental craft materials to birth textures and subjects within her paintings. She feeds her artistic universe using social media like tumblr, tiktok, and substack; traditional media, other artists, books, and films; and through life, nature and family being the foundation of her since of self. She views the world, both intimately and voyeuristically; using her media to honor and dissect these relationships. Intellectual diversity via philosophy and biology, expanded her perspective on how the world and our bodies work in unison and how science and the arts rely on each other’s progression for our collective equilibrium.
